It is very very busy and if you are a westerner you will probably be harassed into doing or buying things you don’t want but it is worth it to just to see this incredible city.

Once you have got used to the chaos it can become quite enjoyable and is, after all, just a gateway to other locations in India which could not be more different. When you are chilling out on the beach in Goa the hustle and bustle of Delhi will be just a distant memory.

Comment on WHAT A SIGHT!

this very interesting blog, good luck! and also the photo I really liked

Comment on #1 - "PREFACE" Glen Joffe

This sounds like it must have been such a inspired experience to be involved in. Asia is truly a magical place to visit. It's wonderful that you got to do Tibet, as that really is a beautiful place, steeped in culture and history. It opens your eyes to another world. Goodluck in your future buying expeditions.

Comment on #10 - "THE JOURNEY"

With a population of a billion and growing, Indian children, especially those growing up on the streets of India encounter a bleak future. Fortunately it seems they cared less about future and live in the moment actually getting to enjoy the innocence of youth.
I guess it must be a little frustrating how detached the consumer must be from the the products you have sourced but then every item in the world is manufactured by someone's son & has a story behind them. It takes blogs like this that create an association between the consumer and the story behind the products.

Comment on #7 - "FOR 500 RUPEES: WHAT IS AUTHENTIC?" - Glen Joffe answers, "It matters."

Humm... interesting,

I would love to see the tweasers...

No pics?

Thanks for writing about it

Comment on #6 - "KNOWING WHERE NOT TO LOOK" - Claudia Morgan reveals secret

It definitely doesn't matter if you don't find what you are looking for if you can come home with travel photographs as beautiful and quirky as these. I empathise with the exasperation that must have washed over you after this experience. I've spent the last week fruitlessly house hunting, but for every place that we cross off the list we are one step closer to finding what we are looking for. That never say die spirit will serve you well in the end, and be even more satisfying when you do find the pieces that you are looking for. You've definitely adopted the right frame of mind for this endeavour. As the Rolling Stones once said "you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you get what you need"

Comment on #3 - "GLEN JOFFE ON FINDING NICE THINGS"

Reading your blog reminded me of my time in Delhi where I too, spent a very long time in the markets looking for original and unique amulets. This was much to my partners disappointment as he stands waiting for hours on end. But the feeling when you find something so special and different really makes the wait worth while. I hope others can appreciate this too.

Comment on #6 - "KNOWING WHERE NOT TO LOOK" - Claudia Morgan reveals secret

Your travel blog is very inspirational. I am searching for a path to resuscitate our once successful accessories business in San Miguel de Allende- Casas Coloniales -and found your narrative so moving. I absolutely love your store. My architecture studio is two blocks from your Jefferson store. I'll look for Indian kids, grades of stone and amulets the next time I stop in.
